Manuscript volume of recollectons of and about John Russell Davis, a Quaker watchmaker and clockmaker of New Bedford, Mass. Includes copies of Davis's letters, poetry, and inspirational writings as well as biographical information about Davis. Contents provide much information about Quaker thought and feeling during the late 18th and early 19th centuries. In a copy of a letter to his sister (1848), Davis expressed his ideas on the teachings of John Wilbur and Joseph John Gurney, and told of a vision he experienced while sitting next to Wilbur at Sandwich Meeting.
